Why I created Burnout DNA™

For years, I thought my cycles of burnout were simply the result of doing too much.

But the more I reflected on my own experience, and the experiences of the mothers around me, the more I realised something didn't add up.

Women could be carrying similar responsibilities, yet experience burnout in completely different ways.

Some became overwhelmed by the invisible mental load. Others pushed through exhaustion until they suddenly hit breaking point. Some felt permanently guilty for slowing down, while others couldn't understand why they never seemed to recover, no matter how much they rested.

This is what I discovered…

Burnout isn't one-size-fits-all.

Many approaches focus on what to do next: improve your routine, rest more, set better boundaries or prioritise self-care. And those things absolutely matter. But without understanding why your patterns developed in the first place, those changes can be incredibly difficult to maintain.

(It's why so many women find themselves slipping back into the same burnout cycles, despite genuinely wanting things to be different.)
